Early Lubbock County, Texas, settler. Farmer, landowner, civic and political leader. Born in 1899 in Taylor County, Texas. Son of M. F. Klattenhoff, a German immigrant farmer and store owner active in land colonization in Texas and Mexico. Came to West Texas with his family in 1911, settling on a farm three miles east of Slaton, Texas. Active in the Republican Party, the Lutheran Church, land settlement and farming activities.
